The unexplainable icy object was spotted lurking at the edge of the solar system, and it is behaving way different compared to all the objects in the solar system.
Recently, scientists spotted a strange object lurking beyond Neptune, and as strange as it could get, it’s moving against Neptune’s direction!
Yes, the problem here is that no one can explain what this object is.
Due to its weird movements in the solar system and violating the traditional rules of orbit, the scientists decided to name this strange object as Niku, a Chinese word for “rebellious.”
Do you think it’s alone? Is this a threat to the human kind? Let’s find out more about Niku, below.
Lurking on the edge of our Solar System is a peculiar object the size of a small planet that’s behaving contrary to everything astronomers have seen so far. It caused a massive stir because it’s very few known facts have already puzzled the team of researchers investigating it. Is this more proof of Planet X preparing its comeback?
Dubbed ‘Niku’, the mysterious objects follows an unusual path. Contrary to most celestial bodies in our Solar System that follow the same trajectory around the Sun, Niku is moving counterclockwise, and the Solar plane on which it orbits is tilted 110 degrees, another unusual feature compared to the rest of the planets.
Niku is believed to be a trans-Neptunian object, meaning it’s a small planet located beyond Neptune. While other objects located at the edge of the Solar System were found to have retrograde orbits, its unusual inclination makes the object truly unique.
“It suggests that there’s more going on in the outer Solar System that we’re fully aware of,” astrophisicist Matthew Holman from the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics told New Scientist.
The story becomes even more interesting in contrast with the Planet Nine hypothesis. Niku has departed from the Kuiper Belt to follow its unusual course, and scientists speculate it could be because a bigger object has impacted it, or it got off course because of an unknown gravitational force. From what we know, Planet 9 is presumed to have caused a mess a few months ago when it scattered a few frozen objects found in the Kuiper Belt, right at the edges of the Solar System.
The peculiar object has been discovered using the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System in Maui, Hawaii. Based on the reduced luminosity of the object – which is 160,000 times fainter than Neptune’s, the team of researchers determined its diameter is no more than 200 kilometers.
But the real puzzle regarding this unusual planet is what set it off course, and how did it end up orbiting at an extreme angle.
“Angular movement forces everything to have that one spin direction all the same way,” said astronomer Michele Bannister from Queens University Belfast in the UK, a member of the research team. “It’s the same thing with spinning top, every particle is spinning the same direction.”
There is much more that researchers need to determine before reaching a solid conclusion regarding the notorious Planet X, or Planet 9, but as time passes, more hints appear on the radar revealing bizarre events in the Solar System that seem to be directly related to a rogue celestial body lurking at the edges of the Solar System. Are the prophecies coming true? Will Nibiru and his frozen brother appear to bring the ‘new world’ as the Hopi Indians foretold?
“In the Final days we will look up in our heavens and we will witness the return of the two brothers who helped create this world in the birthing time. Poganghoya is the guardian of our North Pole and his brother Palongawhoya is the guardian of the South Pole.”
“In the final days the Blue Star Kachina will come to be with his nephews and they will return the Earth to its natural rotation which is counterclockwise. Not far behind the twins will come the Purifier – The Red Kachina, who will bring the Day of Purification. On this day the Earth, her creatures and all life as we know it will change forever.”
